****son Rentals (Brackenfell): When moving out they make sure you get R0 from your deposit

They will do anything to hold on to your rental deposit at the end of the lease. They issued me with three different repair quotes at the end of my lease. They issued me the first quote that was the cheapest, someone there realised that it can't be, then issued me with another mid expensive repair quote and lastly proceeded to the most expensive and thereafter told me that the most expensive is the valid one and that I can't sign the cheapest quote as the last quote somehow (according to them) "overrides" the others. (last time checked a quote was binding, but with them they seem to choose for you what you must sign)....!! Now they currently refusing to pay back my deposit because I have not signed the most expensive repairs quote!!. It has been a back and forth. Your nightmare will start the day you move out...!! so don't start with them..What is worse is their management team when copied on emails plainly blueticks you and you will be left to do a back and forth with the agent... As things stands it has been 5 months of me trying other ways to get my deposit back .. It's like they dare you to do whatever whilst laughing at you till you don't have the energy to fight on....

Thank you for your review, Kagiso

Contrary to your review, only two quotations were issued. The second quotation was lower than the first after our team went out of its way to identify items that could be cleaned rather than repaired or repainted, despite this not being our responsibility. This is not quite the direction one would expect if our objective was to increase costs.

You were unfortunately not present for the outgoing inspection and disputed several of the damages identified, including damage to the countertop. In an effort to reduce costs, our team personally revisited the property and successfully removed several items from the scope of work, resulting in a lower quotation.

Despite multiple attempts to engage with you regarding the revised quotation via email and WhatsApp, we received no response. We were subsequently advised that the matter had been referred to the Rental Housing Tribunal.

The suggestion that we are withholding a deposit because you refused to sign a more expensive quotation is simply incorrect. The only revised quotation issued was lower than the original.

We are proud of the lengths our team goes to in order to assist both landlords and tenants, even where we are under no obligation to do so.

As the matter has been referred to the Tribunal, we will allow the facts and documentation to speak for themselves through the appropriate process.

Best Regards
The ****son Team
