Complaint - Bank bad customer service and *********** staff

Good day,

I have a business and I have been banking with FNB since 2006 to date. Recently I have encountered many unprofessional and unfair services provided from FNB.

For the past few years I have been trading on a small scale where I deal with customers on a cash basis only due to the market for the services I provide that has reduced immensely, Basically I receive cash from my customers and with this funds I pay suppliers and pay for living expenses. I do not bank this cash because it is not more than R1500.00 and as well know the service fees at all banks are ridiculously high.

I am VAT registered so I receive my returns every second month which is directly paid into my business account at FNB.

I have an overdraft with FNB and have implement a payment plan which I have not breached. About a month ago FNB deducted the agreed amount and a few days thereafter a consultant from the Head Office contacted me to ask if I would like to reinstate the overdraft and I specifically told the consultant that I currently have an overdraft which I would like to pay back and DO NOT WANT another overdraft facility.

The gentleman did not communicate the correct information and FNB then took the balance of almost R6000.00 rand from my account. This occurred after I already paid the agreed amount. Since then I have been battling to have the money reinstated because FNB keeps on requesting different information or documentation from.

I have supp**** them with more than what they required and still they refuse to refund the monies. Because of this I have encountered two mild strokes because of stress which my Doctor can attest to and now to add to this I have medical bills.

I am a single parent working two jobs for years now and now with the recent health issues I am under extreme stress and FNB just keeps on adding.

The Business Manager at FNB has done everything in his power to assist me and he was informed that the monies will be refunded because the error was on FNB's side. He has exhausted all means to assist me and this is now where I decided that this is the worst service I have ever received from a bank that has a motto which they obviously do not stand by their words.

Please see below my email which I sent in order to explain FNB the reason why no funds are directly deposited and also added more information to make it clearer. I also supp**** them with documentation when they claimed my business is deregisted. Now I have been informed that they still want to know why money is not coming in however I am receiving VAT return.

This is what I gave the Business Manager on the 23rd March 2017:-

Good day

As per your request, please find the following information.

With regard to the company Dichaba Printers CC, my customers use to make direct payment into my business account for years however for the past few years I have been operating with only small customers/businesses because the market for printing reduced immensely.

For the above reason the business income decreased and I only operated with very small businesses. In other words these are cash payments for work completed and these payments/income goes towards paying suppliers and for running expenses.

This is a VAT registered company so I still charge the customers VAT and every second month my Financial Administrator submits my VAT returns, this is the payment which reflects in the business account to date.

When I started making the payment plan towards the overdraft I did make it very clear to the previous Business Manager as well as the Branch Manager from Laudium that this is how I am operating hence no monies is deposited into the account from customers however my Financial Administrator receives all receipts and invoices from me weekly or whenever I have the chance to hand it over to him.

The monies I receive are very small amounts for e.g. R450.00 - R1100.00 and from time to time a slight bigger amount which is sufficient for me to pay suppliers cash and also I pay no extra costs i.e. service fees etc.

Since the implementation of the overdraft I have made payment and did not dishonor my agreement even though I pay a massive amount of service charges. I did not endure the problem I am currently having and I feel that the Business Desk had lack on knowledge and understanding about the agreement and was not clear when speaking to me with regard to this account.

I specifically told the gentleman from the Business Desk department that I do not want to deal with their department but rather with the Business Manager for many reasons, one being he confused me with the conversation and was not clear enough that the money left over in my account would be removed completely.

I honored my agreement and will continue to honor my agreement until the overdraft is paid up. On that note I do not receive a statement at all with regard to my account and I am not even aware what amount is still outstanding. This is unprofessional and it causes unnecessary calls as well as an inconvenience for me because I have a second job as well and do not have the time to go almost every second month to the bank to sort out these issues when I know that I am honoring my agreement.

This is completely uncalled for especially when there is proof that I am making payment. Just because income is not reflecting on my business does not mean that I am not operating, I am, just on a smaller scale.

I hope that you will find the above information sufficient in order to reverse the monies that was taken because payment was made in the first week of March.

Your urgent assistance will be highly appreciated.

-------------------

I really would appreciate it if you would be able to assist me with this situation because I am exhausted and stressed out with regard to the above.

Sincerely.

Vashti Naidoo

********** 531
