Poor workmanship
Hi All
I know Diamondwendysza is not listed on the HelloPeter webpage but maybe it will help someone in the future
We wanted to build a temporary wooden house on a farm. We did some homework and after about a month’s research we found Brian Shumba, owner of DiamondWendysZA He was always available and very friendly and when asked to quote it was done in a flash.
Response to our queries were answered almost immediately. We took about a month to decide on what we wanted and then met with Brian one Saturday morning in Pretoria to discuss the detail.
We made the first deposit and in a flash the team was on the farm and the floor was completed. We were never on site We received a request for the next payment to be made and the inner walls went up. A further request was received for another deposit and up went the walls and windows and sliding door frames. The day the last deposit was paid they worked until 23h00 in the evening and that was the last we have seen of them.
When we got on the farm we inspected the house built only be met with utmost disappointment and disgust as not even half of what was discussed and paid for was done.
Sliding doors not fitted Sliding door frames installed wrong way round No Sisilation (Silver Isolation) as discussed in the meeting and on the quote. The Rhinoboard that was installed was half done and look like it was cut by a blunt axe The flooring looks terrible with floor planks not being edged to align The roof came lose before we arrived and had to be fixed The corrugated sink is bent and the roof is not inline Isolation was not installed and the roll was merely left there The roof is full of holes as they missed the brandering completely trying to nail it down There are opening gaps between the sliding door frame and the house framework Some of the outer walls are standing at a 16 degree away from perpendicular The triangle window they installed was broken Nails were lying all over the place and sticking out The roof is leaking when it rains A big part of the roof came off due to a slight wind blowing Floor nails are sticking out Floor support beams are not treated as discussed and quoted for
Their website is www.diamondwendysza.wix/timberhomes with telephone number ***
After I have done my homework it seems it is going to cost approximately R20 000 to fix everything. The place will never look as I envisaged.
