Vehicle hit a pothole, and got damaged as a result. Reported the incident with Dial Direct as an initial independent assessment imp**** that total costs to repair the damages noted would exceed my excess.
Contacted Dial Direct and they had the vehicle uplifted to their accredited service provider (SP). A Dial Direct assessor was sent to where the vehicle was delivered and he came back with a quote that was below my excess (total repair costs would be R3.4K). Although the claim was pre-approved, it was rejected on the basis that the repair costs were below my excess. Makes sense.
However, I raised concern over their quotation, as I had already had an initial estimate to reference, and so subsequently instructed their service provider to assist me with their own quotation which came back as R34K.
After reassessment, I was informed that their lower assessment relative to their SP was also due to my vehicle being out of warranty, and hence aftermarket parts would be sought. So claim would be rejected again. This was incorrect.
What is more frustrating is that at each point, I have had to dial (lol) them for updates and also action the reassessment. This is what R3.1K pm in premiums gets me.
