Rejected Claim

On the first of February 2023, there was a storm in Polokwane, my car get stuck in the water my wife called the isurance for assistance, it happened they took some time as there was floods. My wife was tried to start the car it could not start. After some time when the floods stopped she tried to start the car again and it started then she was able to move, by then the towing truck wasnt arrived. She called the insurance back informing them the car is moving. A day later when she driving to work the engine siezed, she called the insurance to tow the car and took it to our place. Week later they arranged a tow truck to take it for assesment.

Few days after the evaluation they told us 'they can not fix the car due: The above incident is not an insured peril under your comprehensive vehicle policy. As stated in your policy book, this covers you for damage incurred in a motor vehicle accident, for vehicle theft and also for damage you may cause to other parties and their property with your vehicle. Cover is extended to include towing and storage, limited medical costs per vehicle occupant and, if premiums are being paid for these, hail damage, car hire and the vehicle’s sound system.
