POOR SERVICE / ATTITUDE
I logged a claim for 2 sets of my awnings which were damaged on the 27/11/2015. The damages were done due to the high winds experienced the previous day in Durban. I had 2 sets of assessor's visit our home on separate days to view the damage. Eventually on the 09/12/2015 the claim handler Darshnee called to say that the claim was both accepted and declined. The set of awnings outside my kitchen are had been approved to the sum of R5000 while the awnings in the front portion of my home was declined with reason been that google maps and the assessor report confirmed that damages were already done on the awning. I rejected the offer and was referred to the regional manager Mr Johan Gerber who said he will review and come back to me on Tuesday 15/12. Mr Gerber then advised that he is happy with assessor report. I am not happy with the decision as both awnings fall under buildings insurance and why wil they pay for one and not pay for the other. When I asked Mr Gerber to release another assessor to view the damaged awnings all he said was that he would not do so. This is totally unfair from my point of view. I need something to be done about the matter.
