Paying for Tyre insurance on a car that Dial Direct has already written off.

I have just received an email from Dial Direct informing me that the policy ( ********** 25) covering the tyres on my previous car is being reviewed. What? That car was written off in December and Dial Direct paid me out then.

Both have the same policy number!

1) I was completely unaware that the 'tyre policy' existed as it is not mentioned on the 'main' policy.

2) I have been paying premiums for tyres for a car that Dial Direct KNOWS has been written off 6 months ago.

The lady at the call centre tried to explain that the Value Added policy is "not linked" to the "main" policy.

Besides cancelling the tyre policy, I'd like to know why I was 'allowed' to pay premiums after the car was written off. While I'm not necessarily accusing the company of skulduggery, I am concerned that these elementary cross checks are not performed across one customer's portfolio when a car is written off.

I'd like to cancel the tyre policy and demand a refund for my unnecessary premiums.

As discussed, we can confirm that the Tyre and Rim policy is now cancelled and that a refund for the premiums collected after December 2016 will be refunded.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused.
