Exuses used to avoid paying legitimate theft
My wife was the victim of remote jamming at a shopping centre recently, and various items were ****** from our vehicle. Two ipods, her MacBook Pro as well as a 64gb IPAD was ******. The Ipad is a specified device on our policy (we have it specified under 'all risk'. <br> <br> Despite Remote Jamming being a well-known source of crime (my wife is diligent in locking the car, and as per her habit she pressed the remote button twice), Dial Direct is using the fact that there is no visible damage to the vehicle as an excuse to not pay out. <br> <br> I have been a loyal customer of Dialdirect until today (have more than 5 years of a claims free history), but their excuses to avoid paying claims is ridiculous. <br> <br> All Dialdirect customers therefore be warned - if you are the victim of remote jamming Dialdirect will use this as an excuse not to pay out... The did not warn me about this when they convinced me to take out the all risk cover on this device, was happy to accept my daily fees and is equally happy to avoid paying a legitimate claim. <br> <br> I will go to the insurance ombudsman to dispute this. Their behaviour is totally immoral.

It however remains the responsibility of the driver to ensure that the vehicle is locked prior to abandoning the vehicle.
