I'm not one to post complaints but after my experience with Dial Direct I can't not warn off future clients...

I have had comprehensive car insurance for over a year. Last month a woman reversed into my car, damaging my front bumper and radiator. Her husband arrived on the scene and told my fianc?, who was driving at the time, to follow him to a near by panel beaters. Upon hearing the expense of the damages he drove off saying he is only willing to pay R50 and refused to give his insurance details. After reporting the accident at the local police station I phoned Dial Direct. To my horror they informed me that they couldn't do anything to assist me even though I had an ID number, a cell phone number and a case number. Dial Direct said unless the person responsible for the accident phoned their insurers and logged an accident claiming responsibility, they could do nothing.

I mean this is insane! I cannot believe people actually choose to insure with Dial Direct. Utterly useless. Don't for one second think they will be willing to assist you if someone drives into your car and then just drives away without accepting responsibility, even if you get all their details.
