Dialdirects negligence cost me R9 612

My car was in an accident in December 2017. After being repaired, there was a new dent that caused by the insurance assessors (DiaDirect confirmed this eventually). I phoned Dial Direct a number of times about this issue but nobody ever got back to me. I tried numerous times to contact the assessor directly with no success. DialDirect eventually fixed the dent in August 2018. This did not however make up for the rest of the damages I suffered.

I bought a new car after the accident in January 2018 and I wanted to sell the old car which the insurance assessors damaged, but I could not because the dent had not been fixed. This meant I was paying my monthly installment of R1 068 on the car insurance from January to August (9 months) but the car was in a locked garage and was not used at all (I have proof of odometer readings from the Dec accident and from when I sold the car). DialDirect is liable for the refund of the insurance amount of R9 612 which is calculated based on the time period the car could not be driven and the time period it took to have it taken back to the panel beaters to be fixed, as the only reason I could not sell the car was due to DialDirect's negligence,(by their own admission). The amount of R 9 612 is excluding the decrease in book value over the time which was around R5000 rand - it is shocking, considering the total amount when adding this decrease in book value would amount to R 10 680 rand!

I suffered monetary damages as a result of the negligence of the insurance assessors which were appointed by DialDirect and which negligence DialDirect admitted were theirs. I should not have to pay money for insurance when my vehicle is not driven due to they delay in finally getting the damages caused by the insurance assessors, fixed. I had to maintain the car insurance on the car which was waiting to be repaired, and paying insurance on the new vehicle as well. DialDirect is liable for the damages, they admitted their liability and as a result, they are obligated to refund the installments I paid on my insurance for the period I could not drive my car. I have not received ANY feedback from them and have been getting the run around every time I phone them to try and resolve the issue.

At this point I strongly advise potential clients to STAY AWAY FROM DIALDIRECT - when they make mistakes they ignore their clients and their responsibilities. SHOCKING AND POOR SERVICE TO SAY THE LEAST! I want DialDirect to contact me in order to sort this out, they've been ignoring me long enough. My number is ********** 434. I am often in meetings, leave a message if you don’t get through. I would call the call centre about this but my previous experience suggests the standard call center can’t deal with unusual queries.

I am at the point where I am going to report them to the Insurance Ombudsman if this matter is not resolved to my satisfaction. Other people should not have to struggle and suffer monetary damages like I have
