I could not believe it when I received a premium increase letter from Dialdirect this afternoon a few months after I received another one. I insured my house from 1 August 2020 at a premium of R569.00. In June 2021 I received an increase letter indicating that my premium will increase to R722 on the anniversary of the policy. From 1 August 2021, I started paying the R722.00. Now this afternoon, I received another premium increase letter indicating that the policy will cost R917.00 from 1 January 2022. I could not believe it and thought there was a mistake. I called Dialdirect and asked the consultant if the letter was genuine. She confirmed and I refused to listen to the reasons for the increase. Like seriously, how do you justify an increase of 62% in only 17months. What kind of shameless thievery is that? Anyway, I went to my car insurer, Miway's website, added a new building policy and they gave me a good premium. I then insured the house with immediate effect.

I called Dialdirect to cancel and after stating my reasons for cancelling, the consultant made me stay on the line for 12minutes, I guess to frustrate me. That only served to infuriate me further and when she came back on line I just told her to cancel and I was not willing to entertain any conversation about it. She then confirmed cancellation with effect from tomorrow and indicated that I will get a formal letter today. I am still waiting for it.

If the powers that be at Dialdirect get to read this review; you have lost a client for life and every other potential client who might seek a recommendation from me. Your company is greedy and has no moral or ethical bone in it. I am glad that we have parted ways. I want my refund for the period 26 - 30 November 2021.
