Chronicles of A Paying Customer

I've had three claims with my insurance service provider and non of them have been approved in time with the first one taking 5 years and some months to be authorised.

I'n 2012 December the vehicle was hit by hail and we reported to the insurance who only repaired the windscreen and not the body of the car. They said they would be incontact soon but 5 years lapsed with no contact and when being contacted would say the samething over again. Eventually when they opened the claim I was not informed of the authorisation until I was contacted by the panel beater who had the car since it was with them for an accident repair damage which took place on the 1st of January. And up until today no one has called me and advised me on the ongoings of the hail repair claim, but sure thing I know is that they will want me to pay an excess for it: Should I??? After 5 years???

Funny thing is I am the one calling and no one bothers on their side but everytime I can all I get is a **** "SORRY" apology and no action afterwards.

Even for the latest one it took them 5 days to fetch the car from the accident scene and had I not contacted them who know how long it would've been there. And had I not payed a break down to tow it to his yard, I don't know whether there was going to be any car towed by them by the time they would have decided to send someone to fetch it.

On another case I have a scratch and dent policy with them, lodged a claim last year June 2016 and only after a complaint in January 2017 they approved it yet I had taken the vehicle for assessment to the specified panel beater and afterwards no communication whatsoever even after endless calls to that department, I was told Bayanda would get back to me but never.

It always takes endless complains and bad ratings for them to even bother taking any action.

How long should one put up with such bad customer service?

Have their debit order bounce or reversed I bet they would call in the next 3 days or so to ask for payment. But in my case that has never happed but still I have to put up with such nonsense.

When I moved from Auto & General I thought I was going to have peace of mind, I hate myself for realising late that they are sister companies.

Until when should we be exploited by insurance companies?
