Car in for fixing after accident damage

I was invloved in an accident on the 4th of January 2017. After calling Dialdirect, the car was towed from the accident scene to Renew It in Greenstone- mind you, I reside in Fourways. So you can imagine the distance between the two areas, if you're fami**** with Johannesburg. Inconvenience number 1.

My claim was only fully processed on the 24th of January 2017, 3 weeks AFTER the accident had happened and after I'd submitted my claim for processing. The gentleman to whom I spoke at Dialdirect, informed me that, after I'd enquired out of concern, should there be a delay in me receiving my car fixed, Dialdirect would be liable to pay for the extra days for the use of the courtesy car. I was glad to hear this since I knew I didn't have money to still folk out for a courtesy car since I still had to pay the excess.

Fast forward to 2 and a half weeks later, after trying to contact Renewit several times with no luck, I receive a call from them on the 27th of January 2017, informing me that they've only just received the parts for my car and it'll only start getting fixed. I requested a time frame, since the courtesy car was due back on the 6th of February 2017, and they couldn't provide me with one.

I then contacted Dialdirect who then had the audacity and nerve to tell me that parts not being available is not their problem. Apparently, the gentleman I'd spoken to who'd said that they'd pay for the extra days for the courtesy car, meant that if there was a delay on their (Dialdirect's) side with processing the claim. Utter nonsense! After fighting and being on hold for over 30 minutes, I then decided to go onto Dialdirect's Facebook page to expose them. Not even 5 minutes after my post on Dialdirect's page, and a guy responded asking me to send them my ID and contact numbers. He called me and arranged an extension for the courtesy car- a further 7 days. Mind you, they STILL couldn't tell me when my car would be ready for collection. So, in actual fact, their aim is for us to pay out of our own pockets for the extended courtesy car days, for a delay caused by Panel Beaters of THEIR choice!

I called Renewit Greenstone to find out the what the progress was on my car and to my utter shock, I was told my car wasn't there! Dialdirect didn't have the decency to even let me know my car had been moved from Renewit to Proline Panel Beaters. The lady I spoke to at Renewit, was very helpfull though. I contacted Proline and spoke to a gentleman by the name of Aadile who promised to email and text me progress on my car. This was also after I'd been sent from pillar to post. Needless to say, I didn't get the email promised to me. This morning, 15 February 2017, I had to call Proline yet again to ask why I hadn't heard anything from them. Their extremely *********** Receptionist dropped the line twice- I had called using my own airtime, by the way. Aadile eventually got back to me- he sent an email confirming that my car would be ready by next week Monday, 20 February 2017- I asked him to send this information on email so that I have proof of such since it's so easy to deny, deny, deny.

Insurance companies are there to make our lives easier when we find ourselves in trouble. But they do the exact opposite! They're all just out to make money from us. Best believe, I'm cancelling my insurance with Dialdirect after this and I'm sure as hell gonna tell EVERYBODY I know to not ever consider insuring their cars with them!
