Car Claim Pending since May

My mother’s car was hijacked on the 22nd of May and recovered the following day stripped into pieces. The claim was submitted and approved. The feedback received was that the car would be repaired.

I advised my mother to find out if the car is not in a state to be a write-off and Dial Direct insisted that their decision is final on the 11th of June and they had appointed a panel beater to fix the vehicle. It is now the 8th of August and my mother is without a vehicle and the insurance company refuses to extended the curtesy car that was taken from her over 40 days ago.

My mother is an entrepreneur and relies on her vehicle to earn an income and this has resulted to a huge loss in income. As if suffering trauma from the hijack incident, Dial Direct is adding to her emotial distress.

On Tuesday the 6th she visited the panel beater, and she was told that they once again discovered as there is another part missing that they have to wait for VW to order in Germany so there is no estimate of when the car will be fully repaired.

She subsequently sent an email to Dial Direct on Tuesday informing them of these developments and as usual it is 2 days later, and no one has responded to her email.

I was on the phone with Tanya fo 45 minutes and I am so dissapointed at your textbook scripted responses while a client is without a vehicle for almost 3 full months. She is telling me about internal investigations, 21 days and 15 days. No solution to the problem at all.
