Cancelled my policy eventhough I paid

I will keep my story short.

My employer informed me I was going to receive my salary late. I arranged a debit order for the 2nd instead of the 1st. I looked at my bank statement and saw that the debit order for the 1st went off and again on the 2nd. I reveresed the debit order for the 2nd as I cannot afford to pay my insurance twince in one month.

I received a sms on the 8th of this month which said the debit order was not detected and my cover will be affected. I phoned dial direct and spoke with a guy to explain to him I saw about the 2nd debit order. He phoned me back on the 8th at 11:48 am from the number ********** and assured me everything is fine my policy has not been cancelled. These calls should be recorded!

I received a letter today saying my policy has been cancelled. I phoned and spoke to Lerato saying my policy has been cancelled and at the same time she told me 1 of the cars on the policy was deleted???? I tried explaining to her about the 2nd debit order but she did not want to listen. I told her if she'd allow it, I will send her proof of payment while we were speaking on the phone but she insisted I email **********

She kept on saying that dialdirect did not receive the money and she confirmed it with her supervisor but I said I will send proof. This was not important obviously and must I assume now that you stole my money? The debit order went of on the 1st. Is this the type of service I get from one of your staff and her supervisor. This is totally unacceptable and I expect to a call shortly from someone capable of dealing with a customer. I am contemplating of changing my insurance completely alltogether but not before proving you are wrong!

35 minutes...no proper response other than the "robot - like" response above. I have phoned my bank now ( I took names also) and they also confirmed that the debit order remaining went through. I am still waiting for your call and insist on it ASAP!!

Someone phoned me yesterday afternoon late. Said I was correct and I don't need to send in a statement and that they fixed everything. You do realise this is your mistake not mine? You do realise you caused me an inconvenience, airtime and time.

I think this is bs. You should offered something to apologise for the inconvenience caused by your *********** staff i.e. a month's insurance or at least a voucher of some sort. I work in retail. If I mess up, I fix it but also offer something extra just to make sure I keep the customer. I don't even know why I bother. You cancelled my insurance and made it sound like you're doing me a favour by reinstating it.

Am I trying to get something out of your mistake? Not really, it should have been offered without me mentioning it. Am I an annoying customer by complaining about your approach to resolve this? Probably. I just feel more should have been done. I assume this is resolved but it left a sour taste in my mouth.
