AVOID THIS COMPANY: Claim Free year, increased premium by 25.5%, they are fleecing customers.

With no visible reason Dialdirect increased my vehicle premium by 25.5%, as well as increase my excess. I'm claim free, my age hasn't drop 10 years over night, my car hasn't suddenly become more valiable in the last year. I've tried twice, unsuccessfully, to get a solid reason for a 25.5% increase on my car insurance. Since I've never in my life had an insurance company increase a vehicle insurance premium for a claim free year (they usually drop it due to depreciation) , I neglected to view the policy schedule emailed to me. HUGE mistake on my part thinking an Insurance company can be trusted. I only noticed this week, that my premium was bumped up from R769.03 a month to R 965.77. I only picked this up after 3 months. My issue here is that this seems like a they are taking a chance. They seemed to have come right, since I missed this for 3 months and scored R900 odd from me. Either people cancel, or they have basically come right in fleecing you. Seems completely ********* from my perspective. Just imagaine a company like Multichoice had to across the board increase their subs by 25%, they would have mass cancellations. In the individual case, it is easier to calculate micro-theft. I requested that I be refunded the difference. Will see if the Ombudsman will have any assistance to offer, cause surely this is ********* business practices.

Louis who I delt with was good. Sure he did the best he could, based on your draconia business rules and set fleecing tactics.

I accepted the quote, it was a decrease of R700 on the excess and still an increase of 10% for a claim free year, on a car that has lost probably 10-15% value over the last year. Still not happy with this, will be cancelling as soon as my broker gets back with a new quote. The fact that 25% got slapped on, and I had to moan and jump through hoops to just end up getting charged more anyways is unacceptable. I'll be sure to mention to as many people as possible to avoid this company in future.
