You get Nerds and then Useless DANerds
Can someone please phone me regarding a project that was done in May 25. My wi-fi is down since the last week in May within a year of installation. I offered DAN an opportunity to solve the matter under guarantee. I provided the contract and invoice number and requested a service call. A technician came out on Monday, said the wi-fi was down (yes, that is why I contacted DAN), fiddled around and the wi-fi was up and he left. The wi-fi dropped again and I contacted him via e-mail early the next morning. Today is Wednesday, nobody has contacted me, but I received an invoice, for sure. Nothing about a guarantee, just a call-out fee. I have to register on some accounting site to solve the query regarding the invoice as I cannot reply to the non-responsive e-mail address from where the invoice was sent. What is happening, is this real or am I dreaming? DIAL A NERD, PLEASE CONTACT ME AS YOU MUST PROVIDE A SOLUTION, YOU INSTALLED THE WI-FI AND YOU HAD NO PROBLEM RECEIVING A LOT OF MONEY FOR THIS WI-FI INSTALLATION. ANYBODY OUT THERE????

Repair Technician did not know how to work with my pc.
I recently experienced pc troubles with my editing/VFX rig. It would not start no matter what. I tried everything I could think of, but was swamped with work, so I didn't have time to do a proper deep dive. I reached out to Dial a Nerd since I needed a home visit to just diagnose the problem, then I could go about replacing/repairing it. I had my rig disassembled and breadboarded on cardboard to make diagnostics easier ( a common step in troubleshooting problem PCs). The response was quick, and someone was sent out fast to my home. I was not at home, so my girlfriend received him. I got a call asking why my pc was out of the case. The technician, although kind, didn't want to touch it as he was scared he would break the system, which I would not expect from an IT repair service. I drove home to assist him, where he said the same thing, asking how he was supposed to turn it on. When I pointed out he could just use the pins on the motherboard, as every basic pc repair tutorial tells you to do when the case button is disconnected, he refused. Finally, he pulled out his own power supply, which I hoped would be able to tell me if my power supply was the problem when he swapped that into the system. However, the psu he brought was for a desktop motherboard leagues smaller than mine/for a motherboard way older than mine. It would not be able to power my board. His advice to me was to put it back into the case and book it into their shop. Not before he tried plugging in the smaller psu and potentially frying my motherboard. They did not charge me for this quick visit, which I appreciate. However, it felt like an underqualified professional who didn't know how to approach a system that, in all honesty, should be something they have worked with before. If I had the time to wait till the weekend to take the pc in somewhere, I would not have requested a home visit. Fairly dissapointed with the service, as no resolution was achieved.

Nightmare experience on buying a new PC rfom a company we once trusted and now could never recommend.
My husband and I have been using Dial a Nerd for 22 years and have previously had good, reliable service. In January 2026, I required a new computer so we returned to them. What a disappointment to experience the lack of knowledge and professionalism from both the salesman [whom I understand is no longer with the company ] and the IT tech. During the transfer of information from my old PC to the new PC approximately 40% was completely lost and the IT tech had no idea how to find it. He had transferred my various folders to the hard drive, but most of the folders were empty and what was there was completely jumbled. It appears he copied the folders over, but without any of their content. Months of work had simply evaporated. As a result, I had to get a completely independent IT tech [at my own cost] to sort out the issues that Dial a Nerd simply didn't know how to fix. I trust the directors and HR department are cognisant of this pronounced deterioration in the company we once supported.
