Not as they seem (wolf in sheep's clothing?)

Before employing Marnick Construction (Carlo Coetzee) to do renovations on my property, I found a company online that supposedly recommends only highly s****ed contractors who are professional and registered with the appropriate regulatory bodies. This company, Dial a Contractor, refers you to "the best people for the job". I had a terrible time with the contractor recommended! The project took more than a month longer than expected, the finishes and workmanship were not up to standard and after final payment was made, the contractor won't take my calls despite ongoing plumbing issues at the property. Marnick Construction was not even registered with the National Home Builders Registration Council (NHBRC) - a prerequisite for anyone working on your property. Dial a Contractor also imply on their website that they will supervise and assist with the process but when I experienced problems, I found them ineffective and they took no responsibility. I had to contact them repeatedly despite them promising to follow up with me. It appears to me that Dial a Contractor is a middle man company taking chances - legally they are not allowed to recommend unregistered contractors. In my experience, they don't live up to what their website promises and I would caution anyone against using Dial a Contractor.
