Extremely Disappointed in Forty Winks Bed Quality
About a year ago, my partner and I went to the Dial-a-Bed branch in Meadowdale to buy a bed for our new home. We tried a few options, and the staff recommended the Forty Winks range as a great choice. We eventually chose a specific 40 Winks bed, but after sleeping on it for a while, we found it really uncomfortable. We used the 100-day exchange to pick another bed. Unfortunately, the salesperson again suggested a different Forty Winks model.
We made the mistake of trusting that advice. Now, a year later in October 2025, the bed is so uncomfortable that my partner, who can usually sleep anywhere, anytime, any place, is sleeping on the couch every single night. I’m on the bed but tossing and turning for an hour before I can even fall asleep. The bed is causing us both excessive shoulder and lower back pain as these body parts (pressure points) do not comfortably sink into the bed at all.
Frankly, I’m convinced the Forty Winks range is a complete sham (we paid around R21,000 and it doesn’t even feel worth R2,000). We are extremely disappointed and would like someone from Dial-a-Bed to contact us to find a way forward, since Forty Winks is their exclusive brand.
