Do not trust the dial-a-bed salesmen and stay away from forty winks branded goods!

Bought a king size bed for R20k+ less than a year ago. I was spoken into buying a forty winks bed from dial-a-bed and was told it would last 20 years and was a great bed. I’m sure they simply make more mark up on these beds as I believe it’s their own manufacturer or at least this is what dial-a-bed made it seem like.

After a month the bed already started to lose shape and dipped in where I sleep so badly that I basically roll off the sides. I had clearly told the salesman that I needed a hard bed as I need the support. I tried to return it and was told that because I didn’t purchase a mattress protector I wasn’t covered by dial-a-beds 60 day comfort guarantee and they would not honour any warranty whatsoever. This was not told to me by the salesmen nor do I believe is it written anywhere in store. Just an excuse as they know they’re selling ******* and would probably have to refund hundreds of customers.

It’s been less than a year and the bed has become so bad that I often resort to sleeping on the floor just so I can have a back that’s supported and have a day without pain. I have had very few comfortable nights in the year and have had to change my active lifestyle as I often wake up with back pain from sleeping on a bed that has dipped so badly on both ends it has zero support. The only part that is still hard is right in the middle, it is the worst mattress I have ever been cursed to have to sleep on.

A year down the line and Ive gone from training 6 days a week, strong and active to chronic back pain. My physio has recommended I throw out the bed. Looks like I will have to fork out another R20,000.00 to buy a mattress from a reputable company to be able to reduce the pain I now live with. I am so angry, not just because I can’t sleep at night, have had to give up my gym which I love or walk around without chronic back pain unless I sleep on the floor, but because I was ****med into buying such ******* for a premium price.

Just stay away from this company and buy from people who actually care for their clients instead of just trying to move whatever product they make the most mark-up on.
