Disgraceful Service – Avoid Dial-a-Bed Park Meadows, Their Warehouse & 40 Winks Manufacturer
I came to Dial-a-Bed Park Meadows specifically for the 100-night comfort guarantee, thinking I was dealing with a premium brand that understands customer service. But after this experience, I’m honestly afraid of what that guarantee process will be like if this bed doesn’t suit me—because they can’t even get the delivery right after taking R25,000 from me.
From the start, I stressed the urgency of this order. I offered to collect the bed myself, but was convinced by the manager to opt for delivery with the promise it would arrive latest Thursday, I wasn’t too happy with that but I guess it’ll have to do.
Since then, I have had to call them daily—never once did anyone call to keep me updated. Each time I phoned, it was another excuse, yet they repeatedly guaranteed delivery before Saturday.
Calls to the manager went unanswered, so I physically went back to the store to sort things out. At that point, I was promised: • The bed would be at the warehouse Friday morning, • I could collect it myself,
Then the chaos continued: • Friday 8:00 AM: I’m assured the bed will arrive by 10:30 AM. • 10:00 AM: I get a call—the wrong bed was delivered. • I’m told another truck is en route with the correct bed, and to be there at 11:30 AM. • I arrive at 13:30—there is no bed, no ETA, no idea where the truck even is.
To move things along, I arranged my own truck to collect the bed—meaning I’ve literally taken half of their job off their hands. And yet, they still can’t handle their end. I’m told the truck was in fact there, but the stock hadn’t been received yet.
Even worse, I was guaranteed by the manager at dial a bed that my stock would be the first off the truck, due to the urgency. But when I arrive, I’m told my items are randomly scattered across a truckload of 20+ deliveries, and that I’ll have to wait for them to: 1. Receive the full load, 2. Locate my bed, 3. And finally dispatch it to my truck.
This is completely unacceptable for any retailer, let alone one selling so-called premium products and services.
If you’re planning to spend R25,000 or more on a bed, do not go near Dial-a-Bed Park Meadows, their warehouse, or 40 Winks (the manufacturer). This experience has been filled with broken promises, zero accountability, and mind-blowing incompetence.
If this is how they treat a paying customer before the bed is even delivered, I can’t imagine the nightmare of trying to exchange or return it using the 100-night guarantee.
Avoid these companies at all costs. Spend your hard-earned money elsewhere.
I can’t imagine the hoops I need to jump through to get my delivery refund.
