Dial-a-Bed and Simmonds
I bought a Simmonds single bed and a Forty Winks queen size bed from Dial-a-Bed three years ago. After two months we found the bed not to our liking. Dial a bed's ad says that you have 90 days to exchange and when I wanted to do that I was told I could not do that. After various discussions and a review on Hellopeter it was exchanged for a Simmonds bed. After problems with both Simmonds mattresses and complaints about both mattresses a representative from Simmonds inspected the beds and told us that the bases were wrong. The single bed was exchanged for a new one with a Simmonds base. As for the queen size bed, Dial-a-bed told us that they did not agree that the sealy base was the cause of the problems on the queen bed and that we must give the mattress time. The single bed and the queen size bed have meantime deformed and collapsed in places (the single with the Simmonds base). Simmonds again inspected the beds and is willing to repair the beds, but at thousands of rands cost. Dial-a-bed is also prepared to help but we will have to pay the repair costs of thousands. My argument is if the product is bad and the new beds did not last, how long will it be before we have to pay thousands for repairs again?
It is so disappointing that there is no pride in products any more. Simmonds is supposed to be a top product but we have found it to be the worst of all the mattresses that we ever bought. Dial-a-bed shifts their responsibility to the consumer.
I will definitely discourage buying from either of the companies. You must know that you will have endless problems until you get to where I am, tired of bad, bad products and service.
