Disappointing VIP Experience at Smirnoff-Sponsored Event
Good day, I would like to formally raise a complaint regarding the poor experience we had at the Young and Happening event, which was sponsored by Smirnoff, a brand under Diageo. We purchased VIP tickets with the understanding that the VIP section would provide a better and more organised experience. When we arrived, there were open tables and seating available, with no clear demarcation, signage, or communication indicating that certain tables were reserved. We then sat at one of the available tables, only to be approached later in the evening and told that the table was reserved. This was extremely frustrating and embarrassing, especially because nothing was communicated upfront. If tables were reserved, this should have been clearly marked from the beginning, or staff should have advised guests upon arrival. As paying VIP customers, we expected proper organisation, clear communication, and a professional experience. Instead, the VIP section felt poorly managed and misleading. It is unacceptable for guests to pay extra for VIP access and then be treated as though they are in the wrong because of the organisers’ failure to communicate properly. We are therefore requesting that this matter be investigated by the relevant parties, including Diageo, Smirnoff, and the event organisers. We would also appreciate feedback on how VIP guests will be compensated or at least formally acknowledged for the poor experience. This experience was disappointing and not reflective of the standard one would expect from brands associated with Smirnoff and Diageo.
