You Dont Always Get What You Pay For!!!!

I have an incoming package from London sent last Friday (27th October 2023) and is due for delivery today (02 November 2023). But sadly there is no indication that delivery will be taking place today. To start with, I was told to apply for a permit, without any proper explanation; even after explaining that I had received this type of item before without needing any permit.

I continued to apply for this permit regardless, using a form that was provided to me by DHL, and it turned out that I was given an outdated form and I had to refill and resend this form. A permit was finally issued on the 31st of October 2023 and I immediately uploaded this permit on the provided DHL link. This was followed by an automated reply of receipt. After that, there was still no action/movement on my package. On the 1st of October 2023, I had to call DHL, not once but twice to find out what was happening with my package since there was no tracking movement. I called in the morning first and I was told that my duty statement would be sent out, I waited and around 2 pm I called again and was told the same. Only within 30 minutes, I started getting information for duty payment and surprisingly also the link to provide my ID number, which is normally the only information required by DHL to clear my package and not a permit. I am still inclined to believe that the permit that I was instructed to apply for and waited days for, was not even used in the end. Only this morning my package arrived at a "Third Party agent", who will definitely not deliver today, even though my delivery is due today.

I am always sensitive to service levels when so much money is involved, I am allowed to expect high levels of service and I was disappointed when it felt like I had to call and force people to do their work, a whole day was wasted when my paperwork could have been processed and had my shipment moving already. I am not happy with the service I have received Vs the amount paid for it!!!!
