Worst service, out for money!!!

I bought 3 weightloss shakes safe to use during breastfeeding online (to be shipped from Australia ) in March. I waited patiently for 6 weeks and then contacted the company from which I purchased, they assured me that the package had been shipped the day after purchase and acording to their records was in SA 1 week after shipment.

Finally after 7 weeks of waiting I got a phone call from DHL international asking me for my email address, ID number and to make a paymet of R707.72. I sent them the info and did the payment. The assured me that the package would teach me within 2 days. The following day I got a email from DHL saying that the package was stopped by customs and that they would let me know if they needed anything. After waiting for a futher 3 weeks, on the 14th of June a mr Frank Moleya contacted me stating that they neede proof of payment. I sent everything through that he asked, and just now I recieved another email asking me to pay a futher R2500 because the package was subtracted more than one days after entering SA. It is not my fault that DHL took so long to contact me, and seems to me like they only want to make money of me or keep my package for their own use.

Dear Chevonne,
Please accept my sincerest apologies for the manner in which this situation has been handled.
I can assure you that this matter has in no way been taken lightly and will be receiving the full attention it rightfully deserves.
As it currently stands your case has been escalated internally with both our customer care and imports department. In as much as we endeavor for positive customer experiences we do not control the customs clearance process. The transit times quoted on our shipments is dependent on customs clearance and the customs authorities in the country.
I understand that this incident has been of great disappointment to you and I assure you that this matter has not been taken lightly and is in no way reflective of the level of service that DHL Express prides itself in.
I will be in contact with you tomorrow to provide you with an update on you’re the clearance of your freight.
Kind Regards
