Unprofessional, overpriced and sub-contract the work

We used DHLRemovals to move our belongings back from Durban to Cape Town in December 2021. Initially the quotation was R36956.52 (we had another quotation for R31000.00 but decided to use DHLRemovals because they are fellow Club Members and wanted to support them). There were additional items collected and placed in the warehouse in Durban and then DHLRemovals subsequently unilaterally loaded the quotation to a final figure of R58559.50. The initial agreement was delivery on the 1st of December and there were multiple shared load deliveries with the main bulk finally delivered on the 17th of December. Our main bulk was sitting in the Durban warehouse, from the 27th of November until the 17th of December and during this time, boxes were almost all opened, items were removed and even swopped between boxes. A number of items went missing and were also damaged. DHLRemovals were the Contractor and any issues, we had to deal with their Sub-Contractor, Intertrans, thus DHLRemovals were just the middle party and they subsequently absolved themselves from any responsibility. 7 months earlier, we did the similar removal, all on 1 truck (not shared) in the reverse order and the final quotation was R23500.00 and we had no issues nor any claims.
