The road to Hell is paved with good intentions

Original complaint:<br> RE: Air Waybill Number (Reference) : ***<br> <br> I paid an oversees supplier (xLibris Books) 699.50 British Pounds for a 100 copies of my book to be sent to me. When the books arrived, the attached commercial invoice said the value was 1399.00 British Pounds (exactly double). This meant I had to pay double to receive the books (almost R 5000). SA Customs law says: The transaction value of any imported goods shall be the price actually paid or payable for the goods when sold for export to the Republic I T O Section 66 of The Act of 1964.<br> <br> When I queried this with DHL, and sent them the sales invoice showing what I had paid. I was told that the commercial invoice said differently, and if I did not pay within 7 days (by this time 4 days had passed), that the parcel would be moved into storage and I would have to pay extra to get it back. So I was forced to pay the wrong amount, and not helped at all. I have queried them again on what to do, but I am just ignored - after all they did get double the money - why would they want to help?<br> <br> They did respond, and I sent the document, but I never heard from them again. The good intention of helping should be followed up...
