Poor service. Different reasons for keeping my parcel.
Having the worst experience at #DHL. I bought silicone wristbands online for a charity event now this week on tbe 29th of October. I could choose my delivery date and was promised the 3rd of November. It never arrived. Online tracking showed it will arrive on the 6th by the end of the day. On the 6th phoned DHL to enquire and the lady said it has been kept by customs because of no ID number or import number. Gave her my ID number she stated that now I will recieve a tax and duty invoice to pay and will recieve my parcel. Wated till the 7th and nothing. Phones again. Now was told they can't help me till customs releases my parcel. Yet I don't hear anything from them unless I phone. She gave me the number for customs and no one answered. Phoned Cape Town customs twice just to find oit they do not have my parcel. DHL own custims has but no one menstions that either. Phoned the number again that was given. A guy answers he says no it is being kept because of paperwork needed. Send the paperwork. Get an e-mail it takes 8-12 hours to process. Wednesday the 8th NOTHING. Thursday the 9th I had to send an e-mail again. Was told waiting on customs clerk for the tax and duty invoice. Now it is the invoice again. Friday the 10th NOTHING. Sumbitted a complaint at 17:30 on friday. Got a phone call 30min later from management told her the whole story and she was on a mission to help me. Saturday she got back to me saying the imports team has advis3d her that NO INVOICE IS NEEDED DUE TO LOW SHIPMENT. She will contact customs today to ask what is the hold up. Also that if a parcel is stopped by customs for some reason or phyisical inspection it take 2-8hours. They have had it more than a WEEK. Today she had to telp me she is still waiting on customs for an update. Their own management team can't even get feedback from DHL customs Cape Town. Today when I phoned again now I am being told there is a difference between the total from the wrist and company and what I paid so I have to pay an invoice. NOW IT IS AN INVOICE AGAIN AND A DIFFERENT REASON?????? I have explained to them I desperatley need my parcel for a charity event for a childrens home. I said I refuse to pay any invoice especially after I was told I don't need to pay an invoice. Now I had to send the e-mail stating that to a new lady and YES NOW WAITING AGAIN. Why am I being punished if the wristband company got it wrong and aslo with all the data spent on e-mails and money on phone calls why must a pay anything towards DHL again. To top it all of I paid over a thousand rand for the wristbands now I am informed that they only got the memo last week friday and the amount payable is over R2000. How can I be expected to pay that because the supplier made a mistake with total paid. Now I need to pay a penalty for the mistake and it is over R2000. I am in stressed panic mode because I can't afford to just replace them and in serious trouble if I don't have them by Wednesday Morning latest. How must one not get angry!!
Good Afternoon Burnedette ,
Thank you for contacting DHL Express, We apologise if your last interaction with DHL Express was not as seamless as we would have liked it to be, however, the penalties imposed by ZA customs are due to the under declaration of the consignment by your supplier.
