No delivery and ridiculous customs payments

I was to receive a shipment from the Uk and last Thursday received a call from DHL saying i need to pay duties and taxes which was 60% of the price of the item I bought, a ridiculous amount!!! I paid the amount and was told that i will receive the shipment in 2-48 hours.It did not arrive. On Sunday I received a call saying that my ID number is incorrect. I confirmed the correct ID number and was told that i would receive it in 2-48 hours. Monday i called again and was told the same story about the incorrect ID number which I again confirmed and was told in 2-48hrs I will have received my delivery. It is Wednesday and i just called and am being told again that my ID number was incorrect and that the shipment is still with customs waiting for 'Tracy' to release it. I am extremely disappointed at the service i have received so far. Thursday Morning i will be out of town for the next two weeks and there will be no one to receive the delivery if it will come in '2-48hours'.
