Lost in transit

I contacted DHL on the 27/12/19 to collect a package (my passport) and have it sent to Pretoria, I paid that very same day, yet my passport was only collected on the 30/12/19 by a different courier company on DHLs authority. After my passport was collected from me it was sitting in Cape Town for another couple of days before actually being sent to Pretoria (DHL shifted the blame to the other courier company THAT they AUTHORISED to collect). The passport was only sent on the 2/1/20.

A package was then received by my recipient in Pretoria, the package he received was wrong. I then contacted DHL to advise them that the package received by my recipient was infact the wrong package and that my Passport is now missing. Nothing was done by the call centre agents.

I then logged a complain on their website and received a rather prompt response(which gave me some hope), the lady advised that she will investigate the case to see where things went wrong.

Two days later she contacted me to say that my passport ended up in Chile (I lost all hope), for a globally recognised company to make mistakes like this is unacceptable.

Nonetheless, my passport should arrive back in SA on the 15/01/20. I work in a different country and should’ve been back at work on the 4/1/20 but instead I am losing a full months salary because DHL ****ed up with a simple job.
