Logistical Nightmare and Passing the Buck

On the 20th a parcel was picked up from me in Cape Town to be sent to Kathu. The parcel made it all the way to JHB Sort facility in 1 day. That left another 2 days for the package to arrive at its final destination. Currently as per the tracking information the package is STILL IN JHB! For 3 days?!

All this after I paid an exhorbatant fee of nearly R950!!! The receiving party was shipped a package from another party frmo CPT via Postnet for R120 and it arrived in 2 days!

How is it then that this relatively small courier is kicking the $%!@ out of the monolithic logistics giant DHL?!

Upon inquirey by the receiving party he was infromed that the package was picked up at the sort facility in JHB by a 3rd party used for dispatch on that route and that they had infact PASSED HIM on they way to Upington!

Now I ask you with tears in my bloodshot eyes how does a logistics company operate in this fashion!

At the very minimum I would expect to be reimbursed seeing that the service received was utterly **********!

Laslty if DHL makes use of a 3rd party that is no reason whatsoever for DHL to wash their hands and shrug their shoulders as it is "out of their control"! There is a procedure called CONTRACTOR MANAGEMENT! Start doing it!
