*********** Staff
I went to Bryanston and pay an excessive amount of money for my goods to be shipped from Norway to Johannesburg. DHL staff requested for an invoice of which I handed the invoice detailing the goods specs and the total amount thereof.
DHL staff gave me a way bill number after payment and everything was processed. After few days of tracking my goods, I realized that the goods are in South Africa. I called in inorder to follow up. They issued another invoice for customs clearance and of which I did pay the amount requested. I was surprized when I was told later on after making payment that I can't get the goods due to the fact that the cost of the goods exceeded an individual clearance limit which is supposed to be R50k less.
I told the call centre Agent that the transaction and everything was done in my presence in Bryanston branch and I handed the invoice which stipulate everything and nobody told me about the limit. Afterwards, the Agent told me to register for custom code.
I told the Agent (Tshepang Mathebula) that I do have a custom code but under a business name. Tshepang Mathebula advise me to get an amended invoice from the supplier and of which I did. I re-submitted the invoice as requested in February.
What puzzles me is that now I have been sent from pillar to post. The delivery date is no more displayed under tracking and I am still yet to receive the goods that I have paid DHL to collect on my behalf!
Dear Eric Mor,
Please accept my sincere apologies for the trouble you have been experiencing.
Kindly be advised that you consignment has been stopped by Customs for further evaluation, the delivery date is not showing anymore because we are not sure when this will be released by customs for delivery. Customs require the following documents : a certificate of origin, a detailed literature from the supplier for the goods being imported which should include images, capacity and end use application. All these details have been forwarded to Lloyd the contact person on the waybill.
