Inadequate communication with clients regarding collection arrangements

I am writing about the Deusche Post DHL / DHL eCommerce courier services/pick-up services. I find it extremely frustrating dealing with the aforementioned, because their communication with clients is inadequate. I was waiting for a parcel to arrive from the USA and the only communication I received was a message stating that : "The shipment is ready for pick-up by the recipient. Please find more information here." No details were provided regarding who to collect the parcel from or where to collect it. I only recently found out that DHL has an arrangement with the South African post office (when I lodged a previous complaint with DHL about their lack of communication). On that occasion, the person was very helpful and I was provided with several telephone numbers that I could use to track my parcel. However, the issue is that when DHL communicates that a parcel is ready for pick-up, they provide a link for more information that only takes you to Frequently Asked Questions - none of which cover the issue you are dealing with. When you attempt to call the contact numbers on screen, they either lead to communications in German or a German speaking operator. Sending emails to the contacts does not assist either, as the responses come back in German. What would help tremendously is if DHL would simply let the client know in their communication that they need to collect their parcel from the Post Office, and more importantly, which Post Office. They cannot assume that you are aware of their arrangement with the South African Post Office or that you know which Post Office to collect from. I live in a small town which has a Post Office; however, when I eventually called the Post Office number which was provided as a result of my previous complaint, it turns out that I need to collect my parcel from a larger town nearby and not from my local Post Office. How on earth was I expected to know this unless I spent a significant amount of time on email and phone trying to track my parcel. This is so frustrating and unsatisfactory!
