Impossible to retrieve parcel

I have a very urgent pending parcel from Germany, which arrived in South Africa on 5 October already. International tracking indicated the parcel could not be delivered to my addrss on 7 October.

It is almost 3 weeks later and it is extremely frustrating trying to get DHL to account for my parcel. Call centres and customer care keep brushing me off to the South African postal services. I attempted varous times to call the numbers provided, every time for 20minutes or more, untill the phones just rinng out.

I paid an exorbitant 37 Pounds sterling for this delivery, and entrusted it to DHL due to their perceived reputability. It seems as if this parcel will never be found, but the most shocking of all is how there is nobody in DHL customer care willing to do more than just provide the telephone number of the utterly useless South African Post Office. My tracking number is CY ********** 53DE

Dear Jan

This shipment was moving as part of the services offered from Germany called DHL Paket, under the DHL Deutsche Post Banner. Whilst we all operate under the DHL banner, we are different entities doing different functions, all operating separately with our own procedures and areas of excellence.

We have DHL Express, whereby we specialize in Express consignments. Our service includes Track & Trace and Door-to-Door service. DHL Paket, is consignments that will be handed to Postal Authorities with no tracking available on the Express Network, as these travel as regular post. You can contact them via email *** or by Phone: ***to enquire about the status of your shipment.

Dont grasp this. Great to pass te buck. DHL was paid for this delivery. If you, Mr/Ms Manentsa, do not work in the resonsible DHL department, why not get the correct department to respond to me? Instead I just get a number that will again ring for 20 minutes without an answer. This response is not helpfull at all.

I advise South African cleints to steer well clear of using DHL. Look at what you get for your money. Areas of excellence? A joke.
