If you are an importer- STAY AWAY!
Good day
Some of you may remember me as the lady who had endless problems with customs last year due. So bad that we had a meeting at the airport. I even received apology letters offering me a free shipment and a mug from DHL, TWICE.
Over a year later and I decided to use DHL again because of it's efficient "speed' and prices been more affordable than TNT (at my supplier). It went well for the first few shipments but this is now the second parcel in the last few weeks that has been stopped by CBCU!
DHL is not my only courier option, I survived without you for over a year and was stupid enough to come back. Your customs department is stopping my shipments on purpose when it obvious that I am an honest importer. .
I have an import license and VAT number. I never under declare my shipments. I provide proof of payment. I use the correct tariffs and provide a proper packing list.
So what is the problem? I understand that shipments can get stopped sometimes but DHL stops my shipments more than any other shipping company.
Sort this out, please.I really do not want to go to SARS, make a booking and inspect my own parcel with customs officials- which I have previously done with another company because they took their time to clear my parcel. Since then, I did not have problems! As I said, I only came back to DHL for prices and 'fast delivery'.
My waybill is ********** 102
Dear Lisa,
Thank you for posting to DHL Express.
I can appreciate the undue frustration that this matter has caused you , and assure you that this has not been taken lightly .
As it currently stands your shipment has been detained by the Customs CBCU team. I understand that the delay has caused a great deal of inconvenience , and would like to ensure you that these Stops are Random . The CBCU team are mandated and authorized to detain any shipment they deem fit for further inspection , irrespective of whether the shipment has cleared Customs or not .
In as much as we endeavour for positive Customer experience’s , the Customs clearance process is controlled and regulated by government officials in each country . The Stop process works on a “first come, first serve basis “, hence the delayed turnaround time for detained shipments to be cleared and released after inspection.
Our team have submitted the relevant paperwork to your Customs Q.A officer to assess and provide feedback as well as an inspection date of and revert with feedback once matter has been finalised.
We are closely monitoring your case and will be sure to keep you updated up until matter has been fully resolved.
Please feel free to contact me on my details below, should additional assistance be required and I will gladly assist .
Best regards,
