Failure to deliver a priority service by PostNet SA / DHL

I am having to draw DHL International into resolving my problem, because I have to date not had a satisfactory response by PostNet South Beach Durban and neither by PostNet SA. The Manager of PostNet South Beach, Darryl, is accusing DHL Sheffield UK of being *********** in executing the PRIORITY collection of an urgent legal document, for which I paid a much higher fee, to ensure a 2-3 day delivery. Due to an error by PostNet South Beach, Durban's staff, the document took 10 days to arrive. When I expressed my disappointment at the extended delay, after having paid the higher charge for express delivery, which did not happen, the PostNet South Beach staff member, Patricia called me on Saturday 26th October. She advised that the Branch Manager, Darryl had offered to refund me 50% of the fee as compensation for the delivery exceeding the 2-3 day Priority Service. Patricia asked me to email her my banking details for the transfer to be made to my account on Monday 28th October. I sent her the email immediately, to which she rep**** on email that she had received it. On Monday 11th November, 3 weeks after I was due my refund, I phoned PostNet South Beach to enquire about the refund to my account, as I had not yet received it. I asked to speak to Patricia and she handed the phone to Darryl, her manager. Darryl asked me why he would want to do business with me when I had given him a bad review and told me that because of this, I am a "bad customer". He places the blame for my document delay squarely on DHL International. I asked him for a copy of the collection request email, as sent by PostNet South Beach to DHL International, which he deflected from and still hasn't given me proof of. I know for a fact that the delay was not from DHL Sheffield, but was in fact from Patricia at PostNet South Beach Branch, because she had failed to send DHL the collection request by email. This was confirmed 7 days after I had paid for the priority service which had failed to happen, when the other staff member at South Beach PostNet, Queenie, had to phone DHL to enquire why the document had still not been collected from my step daughter's house in the UK. A friend of mine was witness to this phone discussion between Queenie and DHL Headoffice, where Queenie confirmed that the delay was completely due to no email being sent by the PostNet South Beach Branch to DHL International. This issue is not about the finance side, it is about principle. The error is 100% PostNet South Beach's fault. The staff at PostNet South Beach confirmed this and therefore offered me 50% compensation - which has not arrived. Lastly, to be insulted by the manager, Darryl on the phone yesterday, has made this escalate far beyond a few hundred rand. He is basically now calling me a **** and he is reneging on the original compensation offer, which I believe should be paid AND I expect an apology for such rude treatment by Darryl.

For context, please refer to my earlier complaint to Hellopeter as below:

I was referred to Postnet South Beach in Morrison Street, Durban to have a very important original legal document collected from the UK and brought to SA. I went in around 8:30am on Friday 6th September 2024. I paid R838 for express (2-3) day service. I was told that they work with DHL and that the document will be collected from the sender on Monday 9th September 2024 between 13:00-17:00. The sender waited home all afternoon on the said Monday and DHL didn't show up. Neither did they collect on Tuesday 10th. On Wed the sender contacted me to say that DHL still hadn't shown up. I had an appointment with an Attorney booked in advance for Friday 13th at 13:00. The sender had to call DHL to be told that they have not received a request to collect from Postnet South Beach. The sender then went online from the Waybill copy that I sent her. They asked for a request to collect. She went online herself and printed the required document to arrange a collection. The document was only collected on Friday 13th September 2024, 1 day after I was supposed to receive it. I had phoned South Beach Postnet who totally put the blame on DHL, saying that DHL didn't do their job. I had to cancel my Attorney appointment and make another one for a later date, on a matter that was time critical. I have made a phone call to Postnet South Beach and was not able to speak to the owner, Daryl, neither has he called me back. I went in to finally collect my document on Tuesday 17th September, 11 days after I paid for an Express Service. I spoke to Daryl as he was in at the time. He blamed DHL, saying that they didn't do their job. He promised to phone be back asap. I phoned Postnet South Beach yesterday, Monday, 30th September 2024, to talk to Daryl. After being asked who was on the line, I was told that he is not available to take my call. I have left an urgent message for him to call me and he still hasn't phoned me back to try to rectify this situation. I will never do business with Postnet South Beach, Durban, South Africa again as they took my money and took no responsibility for delivering a service that I paid for. The owner, Daryl won't phone me back and won't try to sort the problem out.
