Disgusted with DHL
About 3 weeks ago my parents send me a box with express mail which usually takes around 3 to 4 days from south Africa to France. The first postal I received in December went smooth without any problems. The second one not so much. My shipment is on hold in M****ille and the reason for it according to the tracking status is "available on receipt of payment". The postage was paid for in the beginning in South Africa and when we call or email DHL to enquir about it nobody can assist us or give us a amount which we are supposed to pay. I'm stuck in Nîmes and don't have the facility or time to go to M****ille. Bottom line is we paid for a service which are not being done. Any feedback on this will be appreciated and my waybill number is available apon email. ***
Thank you for writing to us and for bringing this matter to our attention.
On behalf of DHL Express, I would like to apologize for the undoubted inconvenience the delay in delivery of the above shipment has caused.
Kindly note, the shipment is still on hold due to the 21 Euros that needs to be paid for import vat and duty. Our team in France have informed us that they've left voice messages for the receiver that went unanswered and subsequently contacted South Africa for alternative contact details.
Please note that duties and taxes are not paid when the parcel is shipped only freight charges. Import duties and taxes are levied by Local Customs and not DHL Express that is why it could not have been paid for when the shipment was handed to our retail partner, Postnet.
