DHL tracking system not updating

Today 7 Feb 2020, I was expected to received my package from Johannesburg, South Africa sent on 4 February 2020 to Sweden. But I started to sense something was wrong on 5 Feb when DHL tracking system didn't update. On 6 Feb I called DHL customer service and I was told the package was still on its way to Sweden and should be delivered to me on 7 Feb. Its 21:30 today and there is no indication whatsoever that the package ever reached any part of Europe.

What is more confusing is that DHL seems to have no view of the current location of the package and whether or not it actually left South Africa as indicated on their tracking system below.

Departed Facility in JOHANNESBURG - SOUTH AFRICA JOHANNESBURG - SOUTH AFRICA 22:44

Estimated Delivery: Friday, February 07, 2020 By End of Day

I have just resigned to accepting that my package is lost and I cannot do anything about it since even DHL themselves cannot tell me what happened to it or assure me that I will recover it.

I have a new shipment sent to me again with tracking number ***. This shipment was handed over to DHL South Africa yesterday, 13 February between 9 and 10AM.

Its more than 24 hours passed and this shipment is still stuck in South Africa. There is no information on why this shipment is delayed.

My previous shipment with tracking number *** is as good as lost. My experience with DHL has been atrocious to say the least. The feeback from DHL personnel feels like, 'you send stuff with DHL at your own risk'.
