"ADVANCE PAYMENT " **** disguised as Duties & Vat

DHL charges a flat rate of R200 on international parcels disguised at Import duties and VAT . They call this charge " ADVANCE PAYMENT " and I think its a way for this them to **** consumers and get money out of them .

I am not even sure that its legal because when they email you , they call it CUSTOMS & VAT .

I was surprised to see a CUSTOMS and VAT payment of R620 when I paid R830 for a parcel only to found that R200 of the R620 is going to DHL when the shipping cost was already paid?

I will not be buying from vendors who use DHL going forward . I don't have this problem with ARAMEX or Buffalo .
