Deye Inverter Systems
Any product is only as good as the back up service provided by manufacturer or agent, and the company who sells the product, and should service the warranty. I installed an expensive off grid solar system, completed in August 2022. It was a lot more than I could afford but I went ahead based on promises made by the man who did the quote and convinced me that his solar system was the answer to all my electrical supply problems. Since then 1 of the SHOTO lithium batteries literally blew up during a bad storm on 4 November. It took until 26 Nov for it to be replaced. So much for Immediate replacement, More than 3 weeks to solve the problem Then 1 month later on 5 Dec 2022 the 8 kw DEYE inverter was damaged during another very bad storm. The installer did nothing to assist because he was out of town and then went on holiday, having said the supplier was closed until 9 Jan2023. The inverter was removed on 9 Jan 2023. Today 6 Feb 2023 I still have no solar and no information as to when it will be returned. I have googled but cannot find a listing for the DEYE repair center so I can follow up myself to find out what is happening. I am at the mercy of the installer, who has told me he will deliver the inverter to me when it is ready, but he will not install it. He refuses to give me contact details for the supplier and will not give any product paperwork. Such bad service from an obviously *********** service provider. I have no proper invoice, no warranty information, and no paperwork for the products used for the system. Clearly the DEYE agent doesn't vet who buys their products nor do they enforce any standards of service. As I said at the beginning of this review, a product is ONLY as good as the back up service and in this case there is none. I have had NO solar power for more than 2 months because of the inverter, and a limited solar supply for 3 weeks because of the battery failure. In other words, my very expensive solar system is no better than Eskom.
