Poor Quality and customer service

BE CAREFUL DEALING WITH THESE GUYS. We ordered a bed and tallboy from Dewald 6 months ago. The Bed was finally delivered over 2 months late and was of very poor quality and had several issues which Dewald promised to fix but has still not done so (over 3 months later). Tallboy never arrived and we were promised a refund which we only received now in February after a very long, exhausting battle. However as at 28 Feb, no one has addressed the issues with the bed. Worst customer experience of my life.

For those of you who are considering using Dewald's services and would like particular details on the quality issues, here they are: The main issue is that Dewald confirmed the incorrect sizing. In my whatsapp to Dewald when I asked for measurements I said “Please send measurements of bed so that I can triple check it will fit”. I said this because I knew it was a small room. Dewald rep**** with: "L1950mm; W1950mm; H1800mm" and I responded “ Yoh…it’s going to be a tight squeeze, but I think it will just fit…”. I would never have ordered the bed if he told me the length was 2200mm as I knew that would never fit in the small room. I have sent photographs to prove that the length of the bed is in fact 2200mm. Dewald and his wife Hanli deny that the measurements are incorrect and deny all responsibility for hacking a third of the length off of the bed to make it fit. In fact Hanli has imp**** that they did us a favour by saying "we made a plan to make it fit", but unfortunately this favour looks awful and has resulted in a bed that my daughter will likely outgrow in 3 years time. The quality of the entire product is poor and my daughter has hit her head on the protruding beam of wood sticking out under the top bunk (which is supposed to be a supporting beam) numerous times. The various boards are not flush and look terrible. The cupboard door was installed so badly that the cupboard did not open at all. The installers then simply used a portion of the bed that they hacked off earlier to lift the cupboard to enable the door to open easier. The door still does not open properly. After numerous attempts to get these issues sorted (including sending pictures to Dewald of the issues), I requested a full 100% refund and collection of the faulty bed. I received a rather aggressive voice note from Dewald's wife saying that this would never happen and that if they did somehow agree to a refund, we would not get more than 35% as we have had the bed for "how many months". Yes, we have had the bed for 3 months, but we have been fighting to get the issues sorted all this time. We are now unfortunately forced to go the legal route, which is never nice for anyone involved.

I would not advise anyone to make use of Dewald's toolbox for their children's bunkbeds.
