85% upfront deposit, shoddy work and disappear

I got Paul to do the floors for my whole house 300sqm. Paul wanted 85% deposit upfront because he said I was getting a huge discount. The work he did was so bad I called the supplier of the product for help. The supplier of the product at Concretewise said he does not know how anyone could make such a mess. The supplier told me they now refuse to sell to Paul because he brings a bad reputation to the industry. Paul *** disappeared when I told him to at least refund some of my deposit because I had to redo my whole floor. It is apparently his style to ask for a big upfront deposit because he never does a good job and customers are always done in.
