Failure to respond is damaging business

For the past 10 years I have been importing trailers into South Africa and after much effort to become registered as a MIB (manufacturer, importer, builder) with the department of transport, this was a fairly easy process. However since the end of last year my business has come to a specific reaching half due to somebody in government and more specifically the department of transport introducing a new rule that all vehicles need to be data dot before being registered. Although from the onset this may seem like a really good idea, absolute no regard was given for the importer who has gone to much effort to register as an MIB but who now finds it impossible to register vehicles due to this new thoughtless ruling. To have a vehicle data dot requires a registration certificate, this is to prove that the vehicle actually exists on the eNatis system. However with this new ruling you cannot have a vehicle introduction vehicle without the data dot certificate.<br> <br> For the past week I have called the department of transport and spoken to everybody and their dog to no avail. Mrs Matthee who is that head of the department does not respond to emails. ***!!!!
