Useless agents. Useless department heads. Pointless Ombudsman!
I’ve been on maternity leave since the 1st of June 2023. I had a private agent apply for benefits for me but when I called the contact centre on the 14th of July 2023 I was advised that my documents have not been submitted. I then submitted my documents via email. On the 17th of July one of the UIF agents contacted me and told me the online application that my private agent did had an error and I needed to do a new one. I then completed a new one. I was then told by numerous other UIF agents there was no need for a new application as they do not see the error and now it’s going to set my application back. I spoke to a Team Leader - Tyreeq Fakir (who I cannot get hold of yet he insisted I call back and speak to him only) he advised he would take it up with an assessor and sort it out for me because the agent who contacted me on Monday the 17th made a mistake. I have called in numerous times since speaking to Tyreeq and no agent can help me. I am not being allowed to speak to any manager. I’ve sent numerous emails to complaints and the ombudsman on Cape Town (Bhele Mzinyati). No response received! I am 2 months with no income and nobody can assist me. The service is pathetic.
