Unclaimed funds
My brother passed on in 2016, however we learnt last late last year that his UIF remains unclaimed since he died while employed. Thus far nothing has been paid to the family who had to use their own fund from the burial onwards. My initial research indicate that funds cannot claimed more than 12 or 24 after a person passes on, yet on other areas people are able to claim more than 10 years later. Can one get help?

04 Jan 2019, 08:29I would also like to add that the deceased had no dependants no spouse nor any life insurance or funeral cover. All the costs borne out of the tragedy had to be carried by myself and my younger brother.
