Unacceptable service
Good day, As I am currently unemployed, I went to the Dept of Labour in Molteno Street, Goodwood. What a disappointment to receive such service?
I came there before 1 and stood in the line outside of the building. Then one of the employees came out and as I have mentioned to him, it is my very first time - all he said, is just wait. I just needed a bank form for completion, but twice he mentioned that. Been sick last week, and in the shade, I decided to wait in my car (parked in front of the building, where we are standing in a queue. So round about 15:30 I got out of my car, because I saw him coming out again. When I asked again for a banking form, he said he had already given it out. As the guy who was standing in front of me, also requested only a banking form. He just shrugged his shoulders and said, you weren't in the line. Then he also said, that they won't help anybody - almost 15:40. So people had to turn back.
We've stood there thinking he might come out to bring the forms, but to no avail. The employees came out, even before 16:00 leaving for home.
My questions: Is this how you treat public as this is suppose to be a service delivery? I worked for my money and am entitled to get my UIF. Put yourself in the public's shoes and see if you want to be treated like this? My next question, if you are unemployed, where do you get the money again to come back the following day? This is totally unacceptable service from this Department.
When I told them I will take it up with their superiors, conveniently telling me: you can go ahead. So, what does that tell you?
Employees need to keep in mind that you earn a salary as the public is your bread and butter. Public is not coming for a loan, it is for money they are entitled to because of working. TREAT THE PUBLIC WITH THE NECESSARY RESPECT AND EMPATHY!
I hope this matter will be looked into and that feedback will be given.
Kind regards Avene
