UIF is a scheme

I am starting to think that UIF is a scheme by our government to de***** us. I've worked for 11 years and have never claimed UIF and it seems like now that I've been retrenched I can forget about getting any money. I app**** exactly 5 months ago today for UIF via online platform and no one is able to tell me how much longer it would take. My status still shows "sent to assessor" same thing it said on 23 October 2020. I've called in countless times and sent mails and to this day has never received any feedback. Really disgusted by their service and it's the public sector so no one to complain to but what else can one expect from the South Africa government.
