UIF Department Complete Breakdown of Competence and Accountability

The UIF department is honestly one of the most *********** government divisions I have ever dealt with.

It is genuinely difficult to understand how some UIF officers were employed in these positions when many seem incapable of basic reading comprehension, logical reasoning, or understanding the very systems they work with daily. At times it honestly feels like some officials do not have qualifications beyond primary school level, because the level of processing errors and misunderstandings is unbelievable.

As an employer, I submit UIF correctly and on time through the eUIF system. The information comes directly from payroll submissions, meaning dates and employee information should already be accurate and up to date.

So explain this to me:

If an employee’s signed contract states they started on 5 May 2026, and payroll reflects 5 May 2026, how does UIF suddenly decide the employee only started on 20 May 2026?

Where are these imaginary dates coming from?

And then UIF officers expect employers to explain THEIR own broken system back to them, as if we are the ones employed by the Department of Labour.

Instead of helping struggling workers and employers, many officials seem more interested in avoiding work, rejecting claims, delaying processes, and creating unnecessary problems for people who already followed every rule correctly.

The level of incompetence is honestly pathetic.

What makes it even worse is the growing public perception around *******ion and ********* conduct within UIF offices. When employers are allegedly pressured to “adjust” UIF information for higher payouts, people naturally start questioning what is really happening behind the scenes.

Then you see officials driving luxury vehicles that seem completely disconnected from what ordinary South Africans would expect from administrative government salaries, and it raises even more questions about accountability and oversight.

At this point, the UIF system feels broken, unprofessional, unaccountable, and completely disconnected from the people it is supposed to serve.

South Africans deserve better than this circus.
