UIF Death benefits

Good day

On 13th August my mother went to the Somerset West Labour department to submit claims for UIF death benefits as my father was a contributor of the UIF fund.

She had all the necessary documents with her, but after standing in the long queu from 5am in the morning, she was told that her marriage certificate is invalid. Nowhere does it specify what type of marriage certificate the applicant must have.

If she needs an unabriged certificate then it should be clearly communicated.

Can you please advise if this is the case, applicant should have an unabriged marriage certificate? Even though she has the death certificate of her spouse?
