UIF Claim not processed

Hello, since I app**** for my UIF in April and I have been taken from pillar to post. Been calling customer service with no assistance (always saying system is down). I went to DOL office 17 July & all they did was to scan my documents. Till today status hasn't changed.

Why is this happening, is it a tragedy for people to give up because almost 4 people I know gave up their UIF claim because DOL doesn't assist and process the payments.

Where does the unclaimed money go?
